Yes to the dress, no to the show

A few months ago, I found THE dress and my bridesmaid dresses.

On a lovely afternoon in Atlanta, my mom, sister and grandmother came with me to Bridals by Lori to pick out my dress. My sister had gotten hers there a couple years ago, and their service, collection of dresses, and personal attention is outstanding. A three-floor facility, the bridal salon is on the top complete with a runway. I found the most beautiful gown I've ever seen and cannot wait to wear it on my wedding day. And they did ask me if I was saying yes to the dress! No details until after the wedding, but I am over the moon with my gorgeous dress, which is by Rivini. (As well as my veil, earrings and white faux-fur stole that we also purchased there!)

The following morning, we went back to pick out the bridesmaid dresses. They have such a wonderful collection and since my extremely pregnant sister (at the time) couldn't try them on, I also got to try on the bridesmaid dresses. Fun, fun!

Here's what I went with:

The dress is by Jim Hjelm.

The color I chose is Tea Rose - a pretty shade of pink.

Much to my surprise, I got a call a month ago from a casting director from Say Yes to the Dress asking if my bridesmaids and I would like to be on the show. It was to be for the Bridesmaids version of the show and I would come in with my girls when they got their dresses altered and they would also come to film at my wedding. While flattered, in the end I turned it down because I wasn't sure I'd want to be interviewed on my wedding day. I hated to miss out on the opportunity, but you only get one wedding day!

While I did say no to the show, I am thrilled to have said yes to the dress!

Wow, I am so proud of you! I know so many girls that would have died to have that opportunity but I appreciate the fact that you prioritized the intimacy of your wedding over the media! Love it! :) Also - gorgeous dresses!!

What a great honor to be asked! I think I would have said no to the show also, but who knows!

That's so fun!! But I can see why you said no - that would definitely take away from your wedding day! But what a fun story!

The bridesmaids dresses look gorgeous.
I completely understand your decision to say no to the show. It's your special day and should enjoy it with your loved ones, not worrying about cables, cameras and interviews.
Plus, some producers have been known to have questionable editing methods. ;-)

I just love that show, but totally understand wanting to preserve your own day. I think I would have said the same thing. Great dresses and I'm so glad you had a fabulous experience buying your own dress and accessories! :)
