DIY glam

I love a good craft project and this one is extremely simple, yet glamorous at the same time. It's an easy way to add a little extra sparkle to any party or soiree.

I have these cocktail napkins in mind for the bf's upcoming birthday celebration. Paired with a bottle of champagne tied with a shiny silver ribbon and tag, it also makes a cute hostess gift.

I found this idea and the following pictures on The Demoiselle and it was designed by Courtney of Pizzazzerie.

Stamp your cocktail napkin. While it's still wet, sprinkle glitter on the ink.

Shake it up

I came across some cute salt and pepper shakers that would dress up any table. I have the Arthur Court set, but love the vintage pink and gold and the personalized Dabney Lee shakers. Which would you choose?

Mississippi mud

Thank you all for the sweet compliments and words of encouragement on the redesign! I am thrilled with it and glad you are too.

I am back from a fun trip home to visit my family and have a yummy recipe to share with you - Mississippi Mud Brownies. I brought them to my work picnic today and it was a big hit.

Mississippi Mud Brownies

1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped pecans (used walnuts)
(4-oz.) unsweetened chocolate baking bar, chopped
3/4 cup butter
2 cups sugar
large eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups miniature marshmallows
chocolate frosting (used homemade recipe)

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Bake pecans in a single layer in a shallow pan 6 to 8 minutes or until lightly toasted. 
  • 2. Microwave chocolate and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl at HIGH 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring at 30-second intervals. Whisk in sugar and eggs until well blended. Stir in flour. Spread batter into a greased 13- x 9-inch pan.
  • 3. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Sprinkle warm brownies with toasted pecans and marshmallows.
  • 4. Prepare chocolate frosting. Pour over pecans and marshmallows; spread to edges. Let cool 1 hour on a wire rack. Cut into squares.

Makeover: complete!

Good morning!

Today I am blogging from my brand new blog and URL ~ Posh Peach at poshpeachblog.com. Formerly The Pink Tutu, it was time for me to take a new direction to better reflect on myself and the content I write about. I hope you'll continue to read as I share about all the things I love most.
