Weekend adventure

Hello friends! Tonight I am headed out of town for the weekend with my boyfriend. As you can see above, we are going to Traverse city which is where T. grew up. His parents still live there in the summer/fall. It is at the very tip-top of Michigan! For a southern girl like me, it was quite an adventure going up there the first time I visited. It is just so breathtakingly beautiful though! It is very peaceful. Last summer we went to the famous cherry festival and also went cherry picking. Yum yum! Traverse City is the cherry capital of the world.
Back to the trip, we're going because T. is in his friend's wedding. The wedding is actually in Grand Rapids, so I'm excited to see that area. We are going to stop and visit his grandparents on our journey from Traverse City to Grand Rapids and I'm so excited to meet them!
I am leaving my sundresses, skirts and shorts behind because it will probably be quite chilly compared to the warm Florida weather we've been having here. Have a wonderful weekend and I will be back after my northern adventure!
xoxo,

you'll almost be in my stomping grounds! you're directly across from Door County- Baileys Harbor is where my fam has the summer HQ! love that you loved the cherry festival- we've got those too- actually DC had such a bad cherry crop last year that GASP we had to ship in lots of cherries from Michigan (oh the horror)! you'll have to make some Wisconsin jokes to the locals or something- they'll love it!

have too much fun- it is just lovely this time of the year on Lake MI :)

OMG Traverse City is the love of my life. I spent almost every summer there growing up. Such a wonderful place to vacay. It's good to know that I am not the only one who has / is worried about this whole eating out 3 meals a day shiz. It's a bit terrifying to think that all of my meals are going to consist of fast food, but I am really excited because weight watchers tells you exactly what to eat at each resturant and what to avoid so it should be good.

Speaking of good - EK won Greek Week Dance this year - Congrats! That means 3 out of the 4 years I've been here, ya'll have won! Very impressive.

Have fun in Traverse City!!

Oh isn't Traverse City the best? Its so pretty! You'll love grand Rapids (or G.R. as my sister who went to college there calls it). Be sure to check out East Grand Rapids if you have time. Its a cute town with shopping and great restaurants!

Its currently pouringhere in Southeast MI. I hope it clears up for the wedding. Have a fun and safe trip!

Have a divine time Miss Tutu, what a beautiful place to grow up! We went to summer camp about 30 minutes from there for years and know the area well.

Have a good trip!

It is a beautiful area.
Petoskey ( a bit further north) is beautiful too. You could go even farther north than there and go to Mackinaw Island.
Have a wonderful time.

I have spent all my summers "up north" (actually in the Petoskey area), and I just adore it. My brother lives in TC now, and our dream is to move from Chicago to Grand Rapids to be closer to family. It's not working out right now (MI economy is soooo terrible) but hopefully one day God will lead us back in that direction. I hope you had a great weekend there!! I'm so glad I just found your blog!
