Happy Earth Day

Disneynature's movie, earth, opens today. In honor of every ticket sold during opening week, Disney will plant a tree. I really commend them for this! Being an animal lover, I am hoping to see this movie. I just hope it's not too sad. Does anyone else plan on seeing earth? I love how it follows three groups of animals and their journey through day-to-day life. I am expecting a lot of trees will be planted because of this. Great job Disney!

"The first film in the Disneynature series, earth, narrated by James Earl Jones, tells the remarkable story of  three animal families and their amazing journey across the planet we all call home. earth combines rare action, unimaginable scale and impossible locations by capturing the most intimate moments of our planet's wildest and most elusive creatures."

The Cast

Polar Bears
"Each spring polar bear mothers, along with their young cubs, emerge from their snowy dens in need of food. The bears know that they must reach the ice before it begins to melt or it will break up too much to make catching seals possible."

African Elephants
"During the dry season in the Kalahari Desert thousands of elephants must travel long distances to find food and water. They instinctively head for the Okavango, an inland delta that serves as a gathering place where lifegiving waters will soon flow."

Humpback whales
"Humpback whale calves are born in warm tropic waters and depend on their mother's milk to survive. But there is no food for the mother to eat in these safe waters. The whales must journey thousands of miles to the feeding grounds of the Antarctic before the summer is over and their food source is gone."

I want to see the stuff about the whales! I used to want to be a marine biologist, so I have a soft spot for dolphins...

So excited to see that movie. It wont be tonight because we have Greek Week dance tonight at the lovely Elon :) I've kept it kind of a secret though, but I guess it doesn't matter now that I am graduating :) It is so weird how much we have in common! Such a small world.

Yep! I taught for years, until the studio closed (for both personal and financial reasons). Tap was by far my favorite.

Let me know how the movie was. It looks breathtaking.
