Happy 2009

Hello friends! I have finally returned after a fun-filled past few days. My New Year's Eve was wonderful! My boyfriend T, his brother C and girlfriend J, and I went to Ocean Prime where we had a delicious meal and a fabulous "berries and bubbles" cocktail that was actually bubbling to kick off the celebration. We then went back to the boy's house and waited for friends to come over. We had a blast hanging out, playing pool and toasting to the new year. New Year's day I made sure that we all ate our black-eyed peas for good luck. This was a new thing for T, C and J who are all from Michigan, but they gladly took part in my southern tradition. We saw the Valkyrie that night and it was very intense, but great overall. Friday night we went to the Orlando Magic game and they won and beat the Miami Heat! Saturday was spent at Cocoa Beach. It was a bit cool out, but we had a fun time playing some football on the beach and relaxing and watching the waves. Sunday we went to church and then spent the day boating. It was much warmer out on the boat and we had fun as they tried to teach me a card game called Euchre (it's a midwestern game, anyone familiar with it?). We capped the night off with the return of a new episode of Desperate Housewives.
It was a fabulous and fun past few days and now I'm back at work and getting organized for the new year. I always love starting fresh and coming up with new resolutions to work on. I had a great 2008 and I'm excited about what 2009 will bring. Here's to happiness!
A few resolutions:
Join Junior League
Take yoga or pilates classes
Continue to choreograph through my dance troupe
Grow in my position at work by continuing to polish my editing/writing skills
Take a cake decorating class
Expand the blog - design, giveaways, creative/thoughtful posts etc.
Continue to build up my golf skills
Work on writing a children's book
Cook more and try new recipes
Remain active in my church through dance or something new
Travel to many fun/new places
Eat more fruits/veggies and drink more water
Continue to love and cherish those in my life
Remind myself daily how truly BLESSED I am

So there you have it . . . a few things to involve myself with this year. I'm excited to grow in many areas and believe it's important to be well-rounded and to balance things that are important to me - volunteering, pursuing passions, athletics/exercise, church, creative outlets, work and loving others.
I hope everyone has a great Monday and start of the new year. After such fun the past two weeks with Christmas and New Year's, I am looking forward to relaxing and watching Gossip Girl and the Bachelor tonight!

Yes, you would be right. I commented on my blog, but as far as the Jack Rogers sandals if you are at the corner where Starbucks is located, it's the clothing store on the corner across from the hotel. Can't miss it, it's really the only place to shop for clothes in Celebration! Happy Shopping!

How I would love to be at the beach! My aunt and uncle used to live right near Cocoa Beach.
